classes begin January 19

SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY, part 2. This course will conclude an introduction to Christian doctrine. We will continue to explore the truths of Scripture and place them into a coherent biblical worldview. This semester we will address the following topics: the Person and Work of Christ, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, the Church, and the Last Things. We will use a seminar approach with readings and discussions. Texts will include the Bible and Introducing Christian Doctrine by Millard Erickson.  It is not necessary to have completed the first semester in order to attend the second. New students are welcomed. Register via the form at the upper left-hand corner of the home page.  

DATES: THURSDAYS, JANUARY 19 – APRIL 27, 2022, with a scheduled break.  

CLASS TIMES: 6:30 TO 7:45 pm. 

LOCATION: Room 141 on the first floor of Blacksburg Christian Fellowship at 2300 N. Main Street in Blacksburg. Please use the front entrance of the building. The Hebrew class will meet in room 142. The Intro NT Greek class has moved off-site and meets on Wednesday mornings. 

The classes for NT Greek and Biblical Hebrew will continue with their current students.

Update on BSI

Update on the Biblical Studies Institute of Blacksburg : After two years of classes (2021-2023), there are no plans at this time for BSI classes this fall or next spring. Our two language groups (Hebrew and Greek) will continue independently as informal studies with their instructors. There's been a drop in attendance over the two years, and we've lost some momentum. As well, my own schedule needs to be more open for travel and meeting family obligations at this time.  There are quite a few options for continued study in the Bible and theology: the Bradley Study Center, local Bible study groups, International Christian class at BCF, Abound women's ministry, and BCF adult electives, where some of our BSI instructors are currently teaching. For online study I recommend BiblicalTraining.org. There is no shortage of good resources! Thank you, to all those who have been involved in the classes! May the Lord use what you have learned, that you might be a blessing to many others.

knowing and willing
